Battle for the Falklands

Forty years ago, Britain and Argentina went to war over sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. The three month conflict saw the largest conventional naval battles since World War Two, including the only ever sinking of a warship by a nuclear-powered submarine, the first widespread use in naval warfare of guided anti-aircraft missiles and the combat début of the revolutionary Harrier jump jet. Battle for the Falklands draws on information released from previously secret British and Argentine military documents to provide new insights into the conflict and a remarkable collection of photographs from both sides brings this remarkable story to life.
